Even if this sentence is controversial, it applies to me in a way. Because 7 years of Jung von Matt change you. Basic. You get green blood. You will be hardened. Sometimes frustrated. But luckily you're hardened. You become brave. You get loud. You become excellent at what you do. You remain dissatisfied.

Today I announce my farewell to Jung von Matt and my start as a freelancer.

Why now?
Because I'm in my absolute comfort zone right now. I enjoy the greatest respect and genuine appreciation. I get so much love and recognition. I was allowed to work on our biggest projects and take part in the most legendary events. It's really my best time in this agency right now and that's exactly why there's no better time for me to leave than now. With Jung von Matt I have found my home port, but I have the desire to explore the world out there.

To put it with a quote from Mark Twain: "In 20 years, you will be more disappointed with the things you didn't do than with the things you did. So untie the knots, run out of the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds with your sails. Explore. Dreams."

Why Freelance?
The dream of one day becoming self-employed as a freelancer has been with me for many years. So far, reason has spoken to me: "You are not ready yet, Sebil. Gain more experience, expand your network and become an expert in your field!" The other day I caught myself thinking, "You're ready, Sebil." That's why I'm now resolutely untying the knots and leaving the safe haven. I don't know yet how stormy and dangerous this journey will be, but I feel strong enough now to dare it. And if the winds should get too strong, then at least I know where my home port is.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for 7 years of working, dining and celebrating with the best. You were not only colleagues, but also friends and mentors who supported and inspired me. Thank you also for the strong cohesion, for never feeling alone, the numerous parties, the best breakfast in the world, Nerf battles in the office, barbecues and chilling on the launch, team lunches, mini golf, karting, advertising league, the FAC, Clash of Agencies, Host the Toast, the board tour and and and...

As beautiful as the memories are that I take with me from this agency, the farewell is also painful. I will miss you all incredibly. @Jung von Matt
